Boggy Creek Air Boat Rides

Florida Guide > Other Activities

What started with a single six seater air boat back in 1994, has since become one of Orlando’s most popular attractions, with 30 minute tours departing every hour throughout the day, (weather permitting) between the hours of 9am to 5.30pm. No reservation are required ~ you simply turn up and ride !

It is hard to describe the thrill and exhilaration of travelling up to 45 miles per hour through the Central Florida Everglades, skimming just inches above the water and aquatic plant life that lie beneath, but one thing is for sure ~ it’s an experience you will never forget.

Each thirty minute tour takes you into the very heart of nature, where you will witness first hand, some of Florida’s finest wildlife, including bald eagles, herons, osprey, snakes, deer, a multitude of aquatic fowl and of course the infamous American alligator.

You airboat captain has been fully certified by the US Coastguard, so you can relax and enjoy the ride, knowing that you are in the hands of a true professional. In addition, all airboats are fully inspected and approved by the US Coastguard inspectorate, and provide easy access for wheel chair users or guests with disabilities (East Lake location).

Your safety and comfort are paramount to the folks at Boggy Creek, so ear defenders are provided to help block out the noise of the huge air boat engine that will propel you across the water like a skipping stone, and of course, as you would expect with any water activity, life jackets are available free of charge.

If you have the urge for even more adventure, there is also a Night Time Swamp Safari available. Lasting one hour, and with only the captain’s high powered spotlight to cut through the darkness, you will wonder at the diversity of wildlife that emerges to feed and hunt, right before your very eyes. Seeing the cold gleam of an alligator’s eyes, reflected in the beam, just feet from your boat, is an experience you will never forget. Reaching lengths of up to 15 feet and weighing in at over 1,000 pounds, you’ll be glad that you are observing these incredible creatures from the safety of the boat, as they glide silently by and off into the darkness!

For the sporting type, world class bass fishing is also available and even the thrill and excitement of parasailing, either individually or as a pair, where you can ascend to up to 800 feet, from the back of a speed boat and take in the majesty of the surrounding countryside.

Although life jackets and ear defenders are provided on all air boat rides, it is also recommended that you slop on the sunscreen and wear sunglasses. Cameras are a must, as is additional clothing to keep you warm on days where the ambient air temperature is less than 70 degrees ~ at 45 miles per hour, it can get pretty breezy out there!

Boggy Creek Air Boat Rides have become a Florida institution, and make a great alternative attraction to the man made hustle and bustle of the other, perhaps more famous theme parks.

It’s a thrilling adventure, and highly recommended !
