The Red Lobster

Florida Guide > Dining

On our last visit to Orlando we took a friends advice and eventually got around to trying the Red Lobster, situated on the corner of the 192 and Formosa Boulevard. Although they are a chain and so are dotted all over the place Don’t let this put you off and please don’t be put off if seafood is not you thing as the menu is vast and varied and there is something on there for everyone.

All entrees come with an unlimited basket of freshly baked cheddar bay biscuits which are similar I suppose to cheese scones and are absolutely scrumptious and extremely Moorish but be careful not to munch your appetite away.

The menu is varied and extensive and offers a fine fresh fish selection, which changes daily and includes some of the favourites such as Atlantic salmon, Tilapia and Rainbow trout.

Lobster is there too of course and you can (if you choose to) pick out your own from a huge tank.

Lobster, crab and shrimp play a big role on the menu and can be combined in a variety of ways such as Lobster and seafood mixed grill which is a Maine lobster tail with skewered jumbo shrimp and sea scallops, fire grilled and topped with a white wine and butter sauce over wild rice pilaf. Or maybe shrimp and lobster linguini Alfredo, tender shrimp with Maine and langoustine lobster meat tossed in garlic Parmesan cream sauce served on a bed of linguini.

Like I said it is not all seafood and on offer they have such delights as grilled centre cut new York strip, honey bbq shrimp and chicken, grilled chicken breast, Cajun chicken linguini alfredo, Aztec chicken which is fire grilled, chipotle bbq rubbed chicken breast topped with tequila-lime sauce, sour cream and pico de gallo, served with seasonal vegetables, the list goes on and on and on.

The desert menu is just as tempting with such delights as key lime pie, banana foster cheesecake served with a toffee almond crisp and chocolate colada sauce…. scrumptious so make sure that you save room.

The drinks menu offers a large selection of tempting cocktails along with a good variety of soft drinks, beers and a good wine selection.

The service is excellent, food wonderful and atmosphere inviting; we will certainly be back for more and suggest you add it to your list too the next time you are in Orlando.
