Mall at Millenia

Florida Guide > Shopping

The Mall at Millenia must be one of the most stunning and spectacular enclosed shopping malls anywhere in the world. No expense has been spared on the design and decoration and the place has a wonderful airy and opulent feel to it. The entrance is breathtaking – two-storey, semi-circular, glazed and with palm trees on either side – and it sets the scene for a most wonderful sensory experience.

The Mall is built on two storeys, has 1.2 million square feet of retail space and contains around 150 stores and has a food court with a good selection of places to grab a quick drink, snack or meal as well as a selection of quality restaurants. They offer valet parking for $5, which could save you some time, especially if it is a busy time of day – just drive up to the main entrance and someone will take your car, park it for you, and bring it back for you when you have finished your shopping.

Even if you don’t want to go shopping, you just want to meet friends for lunch, the restaurants alone would be worth the trip. They are all upmarket and very popular, so making a booking might be a good idea if you are planning to visit at the weekend. You can choose from the Cheesecake Factory, Brio Tuscan Grill, McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood, Blue Martini and P F Chang’s.

The list of shops is impressive, and all are good quality and upmarket. There are three department stores - Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus. Clothing stores include Abercrombie and Fitch, Victoria’s Secret, Guess, Tommy Bahama, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Chanel and Lacoste to name but a few. Other stores include Tiffany’s, Apple, Crate and Barrell, Coach, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo. If you are looking for bargain stores then this is not the place to go to, although all the stores do have good sales at certain times of the year.

It is not a mall that is particularly designed with children in mind. There are a few children’s clothes shops, but there are no toy shops and the food court does not have any of the well known ‘burger and fries’ types of stalls. There are no strollers for hire, and none of the play areas that are often found in other malls.

There are a few areas of the mall where there are places to sit – possibly just to recharge your batteries ready for the next section of beautiful shops, or somewhere to wait while others in your party are shopping. There are comfortable chairs in bright and airy settings with beautiful sculptures to admire as you watch the world go by.

Mall at Millenia is situated just off the I4 at Junction 78 (it is well signposted) and is open on Monday – Saturday from 10am until 9pm and on Sunday it is open from 12 noon until 7pm. At holiday times there are different opening hours.
