What do I need to take with me when I collect the vehicle?

  • You must take your voucher (that we will send you once we have received your full payment) and a valid driving license (plus photo ID e.g. passport) for each person that will be driving.

What if I forget to take my voucher with me or travel without a voucher?

  • Don't panic! But you will be required to pay Dollar or Alamo (as appropriate) the full price for your car hire when you collect the car (this is considerably more than the price we charge!). Then explain to Dollar or Alamo that you do have a pre-paid voucher that you have lost / forgotten. You will need to note your Rental Agreement Number (for the car Dollar or Alamo rental), and request the appropriate fax number and contact name for a Dollar or Alamo representative. You will then need to contact us as soon as you can on info@uscarhire.co.uk giving the above information. We will then fax a copy of your voucher to the appropriate fax number and when you return your vehicle Dollar or Alamo will refund the extra cost that you have paid them.

Alamo 15 Seater booked but voucher says 12/15 seater. Should I be concerned?

  • If you have booked a 15 seater with Alamo through our site, then your voucher will show the car type as '12 / 15 Seater'. This does not mean that you run the risk of receiving a 12 Seater if you have booked a 15 seater.

With Alamo, the 12 and 15 seaters are the same vehicle, but customers booking a 12 seater will find they are actually supplied a 15 seater vehicle but the rear 3 seats will have been removed. Customers booking the 15 seater option will find all 15 seats are installed in the vehicle.

The number of days rental on the voucher is more than I booked. Why is this?

  • Sometimes, if your booking is within 2 days of a full week then your rental is rounded up to the next whole week. So 5 or 6 days may be rounded to 7 days, 12 and 13 days rounded to 14 days etc. As the price is the same for the number of days, this means you have a bit more flexibility with the return date. Obviosuly there is no penalty for returning the car back earlier than stated on your voucher.

My voucher states that a 1-way fee MAY be payable, but I had been told this was free.

  • In most cases, 1-way rentals within the same State are free of charge. Also, with Dollar, all 1-way rentals between California, Nevada and Phoenix are free of charge.

All 1-way rentals within Florida (and many other States) are free of charge.

If you have booked a 1-way rental and were informed on our site that there is no 1-way fee, then you can safely ignore the statement on the voucher that there may be a 1-way fee. All 1-way rentals cause this to be stated on the voucher whether they are free of charge or not.

If in doubt, refer to the details on our website, or email us to check.

My voucher says I must have a clean license - is that correct?

  • The voucher issued has a standard set of terms and conditions that can be used for rentals from any country world-wide. In some parts of Europe, drivers are required to declare points or endorsements on their license. For rentals in the USA and Canada, you do not have to have a clean license, nor do you need to inform us of any points or endorsements on your license.

What do I need to do with the voucher once I receive it?

  • Once your voucher has been emailed to you, it is very important you check all the information including your name, car type, dates and times and collection and drop-off points.

If any information is not accurate, please notify us as soon as possible so our supplier can correct this for you.

You must print your voucher to take with you on collection of the car.
