Where do we collect the car from when we arrive?
- Most Dollar, Thrifty, Alamo and Budget depots are at the main airports (some are a short, free, shuttle bus ride away). There are numerous other depots throughout the US and Florida and within the main Orlando tourist areas including the 192 and International Drive.
Where are the depots located at the various Ports / Dock locations?
Although there are no Dollar depots physically located at the ports (Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Tampa), there are free shuttle busses that run regularly between the port and the local Airport depot. In general, the busses run every 15 minutes, although there is a courtesy phone you can use to call the depot if you have just missed a bus. When you arrive at the Port, simply follow the car rental signs and use the free bus to take you to the airport. On your return journey, if you are departing on a cruise, simply drive to the Airport depot, leave your car, then use the free bus to take you to the Port. On your voucher, the depot will be listed as the local Airport location that services the Port required.
Can I collect the car from one location and return to a different location in Florida?
- Yes, you can collect from any location and return to any other location within Florida at no extra cost.
What are the charges for 1-way rentals?
A 1-way rental is a rental where the car is collected from one location and
returned to another location. Some 1-way rentals do not incur a charge, whilst
others do. As the 1-way rental payment is made directly to the car hire company
on collection of the car, our quotes do not include this charge.
Some 1-way rentals do not have a charge as shown below:
- Collecting and dropping within Florida
- Collecting and dropping within California
- With Dollar only, there is no 1-way rental charge for cars collected and
dropped off at any location between California, Arizona and Nevada, so for
example you can collect a car in San Francisco, CA and return the car to
Phoenix, AZ with no 1-way rental charge.
For other 1-way rentals, please ask us for current rates for your
requirements. The prices below will give you a rough guide based on the driving
distance between the 2 locations:
- 0-200 miles = $99
- 201-500 miles = $150
- 501-1000 miles = $300
- 1000+ = $500
